Swimming is a physical activity that is done in water. Many people swim for exercise, increased mobility and some may even compete in swimming competitively. Swimming works many of the body’s muscles in order to travel within water. There are many different types of swimming including the breast stroke, back stroke, and more. Some people swim outdoors in lakes and pools, while others may swim in an indoor facility. Those who are participating in swimming may choose to wear a swimsuit, swim shorts, and swim shirt. These articles of clothing are often made of spandex, lycra and nylon which allow for water resistance, stretch and durability in and out of the water.
